Read my essay about this song: Just Like a Woman Revisited – the first attempt i made at meaningful harmonic analysis of a three-chord song.

The tab below, to the intro as played in 1966, is fairly accurate in relation to what Dylan played on that particular day. I wouldn’t recommend to try to imitate it exactly, but there is a lot to be learned from it: the accents, the hammer-ons, the way to pick out a melody or a counter-melody in the bass line, and in general: the highly economic playing style.

The playing pattern throughout is some version of the standard “pendulum” picking, which is described in more detail in my guitar school
