Greatest Hits, vol. 2 (1971)
As a Greatest Hits album, this one is strange, since it hardly contains a single hit. On the other hand, it contains songs that hadn’t even been released yet.

A couple of new arrangements of Tangled up in Blue were introduced in 2017. In one, the initial two chords (here: C and Bb) are extended downwards to a “Try with a little help from my friends”-kind of motif; in the other, the keynote is entirely ambiguous throughout the song.

Heavily requested, valiantly resisted until now, but I finally gave in, and tabbed the Letterman version of Jokerman (1984).

I am happy and proud to announce the first issue of Dylanology, an in-depth monthly newsletter about Dylan’s music and lyrics, authored by Jakob Brønnum and myself.
Brønnum is a well-known Danish author with 40 books under his belt, including one about Dylan (“Sange ved himlens port”, “Songs at Heaven’s Gate”). Myself, I have run dylanchords since the beginning of time (c. 1996), and will primarily focus on the musical side of Dylan’s work. In each issue, there will be longer articles, shorter essays, analyses and news.
In the first issue, I take the story about Dylan’s first harmonica holder as a point of departure for an eightieth anniversary retrospective about Dylan’s musical art, and Jakob Brønnum discusses Forever Young as an example of Dylan’s literary technique and the way he relates to tradition. In addition there is an analysis of the recently issued “Too Late” and a text about being Stuck inside of Mobile.

Finally, “Too Late” has been released. It turned out that it wasn’t just an alternate, early title for Foot of Pride – it’s an independent song.
